Setting is in a small comic book store, a small building that clearly has a low budget to it. The open sign is a hanging fixture that only ever rotates between open and closed. Inside, the camera turns to two men, Steve and Aaron, behind the main register desk.
Steve, distinctly, while sitting in a swivel chair behind the register: “Look man, all I’m saying is that Superman draws his powers from the sun, right?”
Aaron, while skimming through the latest issue of 'Wonder Woman': “Yeah, why?”
Steve: “Well, he can’t see through lead, and kryptonite doesn’t affect him if it’s covered by lead, so wouldn’t you say that his powers are defeated by lead?”
Aaron: “No, he just can’t see through it, and kryptonite doesn’t affect him with lead in between.”
Steve: “So you’re saying that lead exclusively affects two of his powers?”
Cut to a scene of a group of burglars robbing a bank. They take a hostage and begin to leave.
We see only the red boot of Wonder Woman as she lands in front of the car the burglars are headed toward. They begin to panic, and shoot wildly at her. Each bullet is deflected, pinging off of her bracelets.
Cut back to the two men in the comic book store.
Steve: “Well, why doesn’t it affect the other ones? How can lead tell the difference between heat vision and x-ray vision?”
Aaron: “Well, for starters, one melts lead.”
Steve: “So, lead is afraid of pissing Superman off, and therefore protects him from kryptonite, only blocking his ability to see through walls?”
Aaron: “Look, I think you’re looking at it all wrong. It’s not that lead is 'afraid'; it just only affects certain powers. Although I will admit, I’ve never seen him try to fly in a lead lined room.”
Steve, exasperated: “Okay, fine, let’s say that, for whatever reason, lead only has an affect on certain powers. All of his powers come from the sun, right?”
Camera angle changes away from the two men to an angle that has them on the side of the camera, showing through the front window of the comic book store to the burglary that they don’t seem to be aware of. We continue to hear the dialogue between the two store workers. In the background we see Wonder Woman tossing the burglars back and forth.
Aaron: “Yeah, okay, where are you going with this?”
Steve: “Well if lead affects whether he can be hurt by kryptonite, it obviously is a stronger metal than most against him. So, if it blocks the sun, no sunlight is getting to Superman-”
Aaron: “How the hell would lead block the sun?”
Finally in the background we see Wonder Woman finish lassoing the burglars and tying them down. All but one who sprints into the comic book store to hide.
(Bell rings by front door to state someone has entered)
Steve: [without looking up from his comic book in a very bored uninterested voice] “Hello and welcome to The Comic Comet.” [then continues his discussion with Aaron] “Look all I’m saying is if Lex Luther really wanted to defeat Superman, he would trap him in a lead lined room.”
Aaron: “Why wouldn’t he put him in a room with kryptonite?”
Steve: “Okay yes, he could do that, or he could trap him in a lead lined room, and make him powerless altogether. Assuming lead could be enough to make him not draw power from the sun, you could trap him in a room and it would be like an insane asylum patient.”
Aaron: “Who the hell cares kryptonite could just do the same thing, but easier.” [Spoken slightly annoyed.]
Steve: “Look all I’m saying is that he’s tried kryptonite, and it always fails somehow. This could be a new way.”
Wonder Woman walks casually into the store.
(again the bell rings same as before)
Steve: [Still without looking up from his comic book or seeming at all interested in who entered] “Hello and welcome to The Comic Comet.”
Wonder Woman turns her head slowly and spots the burglar in the corner. She walks over and lassoes him as well. Giving him what would appear a light punch as she pulled him in. (This punch quickly knocks out the burglar with what is apparently significant force). She drags him back out, only to stop in front of the two gentlemen. She smiles
Wonder Woman: “Thank you boys, enjoy your day.” (Begins to walk out)
Steve: [looks her over quizzically. Then smirks slightly.] “Hmm, nice costume. That’s a pretty good Wonder Woman outfit, but those bracelets are clearly just copper, her hair is much more ‘flowy,’ and her breasts… well they are way bigger. Good try though. I do like the guy you’re dragging around, that’s a new one, but it’s lost on his super fake acting, he’s obviously not unconscious.” [Waving her off, no longer interested.]
Wonder Woman gives a slightly annoyed look, before giving a small and very fake smile and walking out the door with the burglar.
Camera cuts again to the original angle. We see the two comic books associates behind the desk bickering, while outside we see the back of Wonder Woman as she tosses the last burglar with ease into a cop car that had pulled up. She shakes the hands of the policemen, then steps into what is apparently her invisible jet. Then she flies away, while the two comic book associates are completely unaware that it had occurred.
